9. Competition
- Races will begin with a
staggered standing start.
- Races will be of approximately
250km in length.
- Qualifying consists of a 1 hour open session and a sequential run session with 1 timed lap
per car. Starting order is determined by the lowest time from either session.
- Each car's signal lights front and rear which will flash
alternately when at or below the caution speed and remain on when above the caution speed
but at or below the pit speed limit. Changes in status of these lights is transmitted
to race control via the scoring transmitter. Caution speed is
50km/h, Pit speed will be determined for each individual race.
- The blue move over flag will be waved at cars that are a lap down and are being approached
by a car on the lead lap. The blue flag will not be waved at any car currently on the lead lap
unless it is deemed to have been blocking the leader deliberately.
- Each track is divided into sections, if a waved yellow is displayed at the beginning of a
section each car must travel through that section at or below the caution speed, a green
flag at the beginning of the next section indicates normal racing may resume.
- A Red flag indicates the section is not passable and all cars must stop before entering
the section, When a red flag is shown at a section, the checkered flag will be shown
at start finish indicating the end of the race. Race order for cars that did not complete
the lap due to the red flag condition, reverts to the previous lap.
- If a race is stopped due to a red flag after 1/4 distance but before 1/2 distance, the
remaining half of the total distance is completed as a new race using the original
qualifying order, half points are awarded for each of these races. In this case the trophy
and champions title of this event are given to the driver who scored the most points in the
2 races, with ties being broken by lowest combined elapsed time (not including red flagged
laps).
- If a race is red flagged before 1/4 distance, the distance completed is subtracted and
the race is re-started in the order the cars were in on the lap previous to the red flag.
This situation also applies when a second race, started after 1/4 distance was covered
in the first race, is red flagged before it has completed 1/4 of the total original
event distance.
- If 1/4 of a race cannot be completed without being stopped, but the total distance covered
is greater than 1/4, half points will be awarded based on cumulative time of the stopped
sessions, not including red flagged laps.
- Any car that is deemed to have caused a red flag cannot participate in the remainder of
the event.
